I found this like on Digital Elements website. I can't read the language, but I think I recognize some of the models. The one looks like Jim Burtons. Just thought I'd point it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2086885259

Oh, by the way, he's selling the DAZ-Mildragon too. The language is German. Willy

DAZ has been notified

jobcontrol ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 6:48 PM

Going by the customer rating, he sold it already at least once. As it is still on the bid, I, too, think he's selling it more than once. Notified Daz. shrugs Willy

derjimi ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 6:48 PM

He also sells it on the german ebay: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2086885259&category=25987 Take care, Jimi

derjimi ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 6:56 PM

Ebay germany is notified and will take action against it hopefully. It would be nice if somebody could inform ebay.com too. Greets, Jimi

And here he is telling that he sells them because he has to quit his recent job because of color blindness. Yeah. Sure. And that makes him sell the models twice and more without caring for copyrights. *puke* J.

Eric Walters ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 7:04 PM

Yep The Daz Mildragon and Supermodel Vicky-looks like he even uses Jim Burton's add image! Anyone tell Jim? Eric

derjimi ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 7:06 PM

There are models of the DeEspona collection as well... J.

Looks like a ripoff of textures as well as meshes.... I tried emailing Jim Burton on his email link from his renderosity artists page-but its a bad email address. But I also sent him an instant message on the Poserforum. Eric

Grim and those Hi Res Eyes are also by DAZ. I'm not sure whose raptor.... :deep sigh: It is an odd assortment. Let's hope he gets nailed to the wall. Carolly

cherokee69 ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 7:57 PM

Has anyone contacted eBay about this? Might not be a bad idea to do.

kuroyume0161 ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 8:01 PM

What a scum bucket! I hope Daz and the others bring up charges for copyright infringement, theft, selling of nondistributable items, anything that can be thrown at him.

Isn't the raptor a curious labs thing- comes with poser4?

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 8:18 PM

That looks like the P4 raptor. The image is from Digiport Designs' Raptor Poses at DAZ. Last week, I ran across an online store burning its own Poser 4/Pro Pack/Poser 5 cds for less than $70. Who said P5 wasn't worth pirating?

What's the german word for "wanker"? Scarab

daeve ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 9:14 PM

Vanker?

kuroyume0161 ( ) posted Mon, 06 January 2003 at 10:03 PM

Doesn't matter if he sells it even just once, it's illegal. Look at Daz3D's license agreement. If my email send wasn't f**ked, I was going to send him the Mil Dragon page and License agreement page for his perusal as he awaits international copyright infringement charges (among other things). The pics are right off of their pages. Even that's illegal.

A friend just bought the collection off ebay. You guys were right...it's a load of models from Daz 3d, Runtime DNA AND custom Renderosity models as well. I hate to say it, but it will be hard to get any legal action against him...he's in Germany from what I can see. Just spoke to an attorney today.

cooler ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 12:26 AM

eBay Germany, as well as their parent company have received official 'cease & desist' documentation. I suspect the material will be removed shortly

hemi426 ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 1:34 AM

@scarab the german word for "wanker" is "wichser"... Glad I could help

Ozymandias-Jones ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 2:54 AM

A Warez'ing friend of mine contacted me only yesterday re a CD he had found he thought I might be interested in. It included Poser 4, V2, M2 and texture packs, also included photoshop just to make it tempting. No price given... I think they were just fishing for Cerdit Card No's. Sad thing is, how may would be tempted by our ebay friend. Enough I suspect to make it worth his while to try.

hauksdottir ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 6:28 AM

The first link (English) looks like it is still up. I don't read German, but it appears that the German eBay has acted: ****** Buyer, nutzen Sie die Kaufabwicklung, um die Transaktion schnell und unkompliziert abzuschlien. Der Verkfer akzeptiert Nachnahme oder Barzahlung bei ergabe. ****** Don't sellers have to give real information to eBay when they register to sell something and not just anonymous handles? derjimi ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 6:39 AM

Buyer, nutzen Sie die Kaufabwicklung, um die Transaktion schnell und unkompliziert abzuschlien. Der Verkfer akzeptiert Nachnahme oder Barzahlung bei ergabe. This only means that the betting is over and the buyer should contact the seller. eBay hasn't reacted yet. J.

Dynamo ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:04 AM

..and they wont. I saw once a pirate copy of a video series that was on the market. I had bought the series for like a hundred bucks.. this guy got it all on one tape for like 25.00 and I informed Ebay of this and even gave them the company name and catalogue. The reply I got while very nice implied nothing would be done about it. (loopy on cold medicine)

derjimi ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:19 AM

Update: I send him a mail - evirgen@gmx.net - and asked how many models on one CD are. Ergo, 80X130Dollar = 10400Dollars. Aber bei eBay eben supi Preis... Viele Grse Andreas Jansen ---- The CD contains too many profi meshes. The quality is outstanding and the price is cheap for real. Please keep inmind that these models cost more than $ 130 each and more. On the CD are... hmmmm... about: 80 models. So - 80x $130= 10400 worth. But a super price at ebay. ---- I just answered and asked him about copyright violations because he sells models of DAZ3D, DeEspona, 'Rosity Marketplace and so on ebay.com and also ebay.de. Well, I don't like him. J.

rasputina ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:35 AM

Nuts, I see Pin Up Steph amoung the aforementioned items, with some of the clothing and poses shown looks like someone may be platinum club fishing as well...that is only a guess however.

derjimi ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 7:41 AM

He answered that he wants to sell them because he has no use for it. And he asks if he should throw the models in the trash bin or what. He says that these are original CDs and no copies. --- Well, I don't believe him very much. Original CDs? J.

Corinne ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 11:53 AM

Perhaps should you "play" the interested with him and ask him what great creations he has done with all the models he has bought to Daz :) So we'll see if he really has bought and used these models (because we don't buy to don't use after !)... Bah, just a suggestion but perhaps non usable. (Sorry for my english)

queri ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 3:47 PM

Ebay makes money from each sale-- I think dAZ, CL, etc ought to go after the biggest pockets-- they were warned this is illegal-- ebay is liable. They profited from the auction. Emily

Jim Burton ( ) posted Tue, 07 January 2003 at 3:49 PM

I also contacted DAZ, after a nice person here pointed this out. DAZ is supposed to take care of stuff like this for brokered artists, we'll have to see.
