I've noticed that when you vote for a picture, it seems to be very easy to get the highest score, a five. I think it's not really fair to all the artists out there. When you see a amazing picture you set the highest score beacuse it's very good. But when you see a picture that isn't that good and it have the highest score, then you really get bored. I think you should have a list with a ten as the highest score. That would be mostly fair to all!

I agree totaly, the system needs change. Over the last couple of weeks and most appearant over the last few days almost every post rcieves 5.00. This is due to the fact that there are a number of people who constantly dish out 5's left and right. I myself try to be honest and give constructive critics when rating and that does not necessarily mean giving a five. Although giving lower scores when so is motivating that often results in flaming and anger from the person recieving critics. This would mean that there should be some cleansing of some of the users but that is a whole different matter. Change the rating system, add a jury or whatever. Right now, the system insults the real good artists on the forum (not referring to myself), a 5 is a spectacular composition of quality that is almost impeccable. That is the meaning of a 5. Personally, it seems people in general only give 1, 3 or 5 - they like the image, they give it a 5; the either don't like the image, or the don't like the artist, or are just basic pricks they give it a 1, and a few others toss out 3 - often with constructive criticism. I think the numbers should be gotten rid of entirely, and said so a while back in the Complaint and Debate forum. It seems to be a fairly common subject down there!

Everyone has gotten tired of all the complaints when anyone gets less than a 5...too many big egos here. I believe most do just as me and just leave the default 5...just not worth all the bitching that goes on. Nobody should pay any attention to the scoring as it's become completly worthless. The only thing that would work is a scale of 1 to 10. 1 to 5 is not enough of a spread to give a true opinion of a work.
