Technically, a software maker (and that includes 3d meshes) cannot restrict you from making a backup copy, or from reselling your legally purchased copy of said software, so long as it is removed entirely from your posession in any and all forms. This includes updates, etc... (so if you purchased V3 of Poser, for instance - and paid the upgrade price for Poser4, you cannot legally sell your copy of Poser3).
