perv, or should i call pixel? In ver6 Adobe did away with a lot of the dialog box type settings and replaced them with "option" bar settings (a much better feature). The options change based on the type of tool selected.

To create your own gradient;
1 select the tool
2 click on the small arrow in the gradient selected in the option bar
3 click on the "arrow" form the dropdown menu
4 choose New Gradient...

or click directly on the "gradient" in the option bar to call up the editor directly. Make sure you save your gradient as a "new" one or you'll have modified the existing selected one.
