All, There are at least four representations of Quetzalcoatl at different times in Toltec history. As depicted on the Mexican Flag, Quetzalcoatl, is neither feathered nor flaming. The Eagle represents the Toltec God Tej. The cactus at the bottom of their flag represents the struggle of the Aztecs to build a country in the desert aided by the Cactus Mescal (and later the Toltecs). There is definately a story there, but it is for tha Aztecs to tell for it is their story. It should be told right. In the Jewish Religion from which Christianity and thus the western world gets many of their myths, a dragon was supposed to be bad luck or bad fortune - that and the Legend of King George is I suppose where the Idea that dragons are Evil or otherwise bad news comes from. Enuma Elish . . . it's an old enough story that most have forgotten, (and no copyright issues that I know of) ... Tiamat was a goddess who had many of the attributes of a Dragon . . . might be interesting . . . Still no one has mentioned Grendal . . . Beyond here there be Dragons, - TJ
