Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
I saved mine as cr2's and some faces as, well, faces. Are there any morphs you can get rid of--do you need all the head ones, the body ones? Muscles ?? You could take out anything you haven't changed and theoretically your character will stay the same-- and it should be smaller than even V2. Maybe. Emily
If your characters use only the standard morphs, then you can save the morph settings of the characters only by using one of the "Create Morphs Pose File" python scripts in freestuff (if you have ProPack or Poser5). Otherwise you can create pose file by hand. This by far is the most efficient way of storing charactres. You can also make your .cr2's smaller by setting the 'compress" option (also only ProPack or Poser5). This compresses the .cr2's during saving so they take up less space. You could also zip your .cr2's smaller using winzip or pkzip.
I don't know how to remove unused morphs. Is it easy to do? I thought that was what the dial cleaner did, but it doesn't do much for me and ruins pz3 files. What's this compression option? Is that under the general preferences where you set the preffered state? Sorry I'm still learning about Poser.

macelene, Here's an excellent tut on removing unneeded morphs. With V3 you could also use the REMOVE pose files. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. I'm sorry if this topic is a repeat. I searched but I couldn't find anything with the keywords used. I've made a few custom characters for V3 and I want to go ahead and save them, but my space is limited. In fact 90% of my texture files are on a completely different drive, because I'm so limited. I ran the dial cleaner on both of them and to my suprise it took out about 10K on one file but added 2k on the other. Any help on the best way to save them and save space, would be appreciated. I guess the last option I have it to resort to saving the character as a pz3 file and load it from there but if I want both character in the scene I'm stuck. Macey
