Alright here's the skinny on the copyright issue; I emailed the site asking if it would be alright if we could convert their 3D models so that they could be rendered for exhibition purposes only without commercial gains. Their response was polite and even showed some interest. My email; I've looked and see no copyrighted notices advising viewers that although the models are in 3dmf format, that they should not be converted over to other, more common formats and was wondering if that presents a problem as long as it's not being done for commercial gain. In other words, we have a bunch of fans that would love to use your buildings in their 3D renderings only to exhibit. Would there, in your opinion, be a problem with that? We thank you for your exquisite work. Their response; Thanks for writing to Artifice. Copyright for all 3DMF model files at GreatBuildings.com is held by Artifice, Inc. Only private, personal viewing of the models is permitted. Any other use including conversion or distribution of the models requires prior written permission from Artifice, Inc. If you could explain in greater detail what you have in mind, we'd be glad to discuss how that might be possible. We'll look forward to hearing from you again. Best wishes, David Owen rights@artifice.com
