I have problem with Poser 5 firefly renderer. After rendering I've got partially black surfaces. Is there a way to fix that?

I had a similar problem with hair, once. I think it might be the object shadowing itself. Try to check the "use displacement map" in the Firefly render options, then set the minimum displacement bound to a low value. If that doesn't work, try to select each part that is self shadowing, open the properties palette and set the displacement bound to a low value. If that fails, tell us what Firefly settings you are using and what kind of figure/texmap you use. Hope this helps Compiler

OOooops. I remember now, I got rid of the problem by changing the light dial, not the properties. When using a light in raytracing mode, with raytracing shadows, keep the min shadow bias at the default value (0.800). This did the trick for me. Don't know what I was thinking about... Time to go to bedn I guess. Hope to have helped you, in the end. Compiler

OK, I felt I did not do quite a good job explaining this, so I set an illustration to better say what I meant. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=1057706 Sorry for this. I shouldn't post anything too late at night... Compiler
