Welcome to the party, BelArmach. Depends which aspect(s) of 2D graphics you want to go into. There's Modelling, Texturing, Animation and about a thousand other areas you could throw your lot in with. I guess I moved to texturing and composition first, since I have been a 2D artist for many years and I feel at home with Photoshop. If you want to get straight into modelling, you'll need some modelling application (Rhino, Maya, 3D Studio etc) and a little (lots) time to learn how to use them. If you want to get to grips with any aspect of 3D graphics, I suggest you take a look at the Tutorials link at the top of the page, read a few articles and see what you think then. They may suggest a particular avenue. If you want to start relatively easily, buy yourself a copy of Poser 4 with Pro Pack and start playing with it. I've been using it for about 7 months or so, and I'm beginning to feel comfortable with it now. Far from being expert, but I can turn a few good renders out once in a while. Anything else you want to know? Just ask; people here are friendly and helpful - and if there's a tutorial to answer your questions, people will usually post the link for you. Have fun.
