To create an object usig Carrara you will need two things. Bushi's phi bulder (do a search of the site) and some patience. lets use a door in a doorway as an example: Lets say you have a door and a doorway mesh made in Carrara. Import in a Poser figure but UNCHECK the autoposition and resize options. This will let you know how big you should scale the object and the co-ordinates before you export it. Resize and reposition the door and doorway to match the position of the figure etc and Export as a OBJ. Remember one thing though: Carrara is a little weird when it comes to groups. make sure the door is a single mesh and NOT A GROUP! and the same with the doorway. export as an OBJ and place it in the geometries folder in your own folder or antoher. make note of the foldier name AND the file name. when you open the phi factory and use the create a new phi file you will have to specify the location of the file inside the geometries folder -> runtime:Gemetries:Your folder name:your obj file name.obj if there is even a spelling error then this won't work. inside phi factory "add the node" like doorway and the child which would be the door. specify after each object the XYZ coordinates. Open up a CR2 using phi factory to take a look at how it should be set up. open Poser and use the convert heir file. specify its name and open up the file. use the joint editor to set up where the door is hinged to the doorway. this would be the section titled CENTER in the joint editor. shut off the bending for each part to make it easier to set up. Setting up bend and twist joints are a whole other headache for organic props. For that you may want to have a talk with ScottA who explained it to me. resave the file and open up the material editor to set up the coloring for the door and doorway
