With the Millenium Act and other newly added "laws", if the government suspects that you are a terrorist or supporting terrorism or perform anything else covered in the MA, you can be arrested, incarcerated, and held without representation or trial for as long as the government sees fit. You are a non-person without any rights whatsoever. Quite frankly it's beginning to make McCarthy-ism look rather tame.... So much for land of the free...please don't lose sight of that laudable aim, because of knee-jerk reaction to atrocity, and the power-hunger of certain powerful cliques. If Bush-Ashcroft-Republican Congress have their way, we'll be a theocratic dictatorship in no time flat. Canada is looking really good these days, as much as I despise cold weather. nuff said Beat....example...Iraq has only one real political party, which is only one less than the US (I know there are more, but really, worth what?)....and if we want to start whining about compliance with UN resolutions, ..........um............242 mean anything? I'm sorry, but this self-righteous bull about this being a war on terror is starting to wear a bit thin. And, at the risk of sounding anti-semetic, has anyone heard of the theory that the abused become abusers in later life. For the record, i'm not anti-anyone, i just think religion is anachronistic bullshit, and should be consigned to the dustbin of history where it belongs.
