I'm a member of a political board, and it's really crazy now. One thing is certain, a lot of people are very worried. My area of research is Cambodia. The carpet bombing that killed 700,000 civilians; the famine it caused that killed as many; the destabilizing effects it had on the whole region, providing the Khmers Rouge and Pol Pot the chance to take power and kill between 1 to 3 million more civilians; and then a decade later, when Pot had been removed, good old Ronald Reagan decided it was in the US's interests to provide this sociopath with money, arms and advisers so he could continue his civil war and kill even more people. That's what war can bring. They may not be Americans, but they are people too. "Collateral damage" ? well denial serves a purpose, I guess.
