Poser 5's dynamic hair is not backwards-compatible with Poser 4. Or any other application, for that matter. As for procedural materials, they are generated on-the-fly in Poser 5, and there is no export option. However, it's possible to apply most materials to the background, do a blank render with nothing else in the scene, and then export the results as you would any other render.
