Thanks for responding Clint. Your comments jarred my memory banks about creator and type codes in Mac files. I opened a few of the shader files in a conversion utility and added that information. Seemed to work fine. Now, I'll see if I can get the tutorial files to work. I finally have Carrara running in semi-stable fashion, after applying appropriate amounts of swearing, voodoo and alien intervention. I should have something to post soon. mclarsen
