Currently there is no way to import from Poser5 to LW. You can export models from Poser5 as obj files and import those into LW. Once imported into LW you then have to rig the poser imported model for animation, time consuming. CuriousLabs has posted that they are working on a Poser5 plugin for lw and other 3d applications, but there is no time frame when that plugin will be available. Bottom line, if you want to use poser 5 and lightwave you have to do all the animation in lightwave and rigging in lightwave. I'm in the same position, I only have Poser5. If you have poser4 and the pro pack there is a LW plugin and you can use import animations with that, right now, that is the only way.
