Wow, thanks Guitta. I ended up painting some white bubbly looking things in Photoshop then importing them as an alpha plane, but they don't look very good, not like your example. So you flatten the terrain out real flat, and then either make it longer/wider or move it to a side to get the effect on the shore? I will look for that transparency map.
