One of the things that happens with any art is we become emotionally blinded - we project intensity into the work. We see what we feel and not what is there. A good many artists wait before they release something - give it time. Some even find ways to observe that objectify the art. For example - looking at a copy in a mirror. But this is why time makes a difference. - The original emotion pales and in its place - a 'cold eye'
