If you want to try this, use a friend's microwave. :-) Put the cd on something to raise it off of the oven floor about an inch or so. Then, zap it on high for 10-20 seconds. Turn off the lights and you'll see quite a show, as the high induced currents fry the thin aluminum layer in the cd. If you turn off the oven when the sparks begin to fly, you won't damage the oven (disclaimer--I'm not recommending that you do this, so don't sue me), but if you leave it on too long, you may start a fire.
