IMO contemporary condemnations of extinct cultures are always problematic. The mention of "Aztec priests" raises the spectre of a debate I've gotten into countless times over the years. I totally agree with the essence of what Dodger is saying, but feel that most of what is said in cultural or political arguments about the Azteca is part of the "culturism" that Dodger rightly criticizes. Just a thought. (Another is that we modern Americans have our own systems of human sacrifice, but that's probably for the OT forum.) This thread reminds me of my friend who explores aspects of African-American history in his artwork. About a year ago he had a show which featured large, beautiful photographs of him wearing Klan hoods made of African fabrics. He's black, so the effect of his eyes looking out thoughtfully from those hoods was stunning and compelling. Made people nervous in all the right ways. Sorry, I'm at a loss for how to make this post releate to Poser. :-)
