Not a flame, but take a look at the covers of 3D World and Computer Art magazines. I haven't seen too many Poser images there, and there aren't always faces. I don't know who chooses the cover images for Renderosity magazine, but I have a feeling you'll eventually see a broader range of images. There are some very nice Poser images in the gallery here, but after a few pages, they do tend to blur together. And (I'm a little prejudiced here) I think that Poser objects always look better when rendered in Bryce.
