Avalonne, the issue wasn't one of freedom of expression nor was it to do with the content of the image. What it was to do with was the fact that the method employed (1 post becomes 2 becomes 4 becomes 8 becomes 16...) can very rapidly get way out of control and had the potential to totally flood the gallery and soak up huge amounts of bandwidth. The only way to get out of it was to remove all of the images otherwise it would only start over with another 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048... posts.
