Poser 5 for the Mac timeline: (as history repeats itself) May 2003: Poser 5 for the OS X is offered for the pre-order price of $349.99. A few people buy it. June 2003: Poser 5 is shipped to the few people who bought it. The box claims it will work on OS 9. It does, but, like a lot of the features listed on the box, not that well. Late June 2003: Renderosity re-opens the Beta Test Forum for the Mac users who are complaining about not being able to register their copy and the amount of bugs. July 2003: Service Pack 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 1.9, and 2.0 are released to fix the bugs. August 2003: Service Pack 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, and Beta 3.0 are released to fix the bugs. Mac users complain that they're being treated like Windows users by having to download a new Service Pack every few days. September 2003: Curious Labs drops the price to its regular "sale price" of $319.99. The few people who pre-ordered scream because they were charged more money for the privledge of buying early. CL (and Windows users) have no sympathy since CL did the same thing with the Windows version of Poser 5. Decemeber 2003: Amazon.com sells Poser 5 for the Mac for $99.99. CL tries to defend that they can't match that price.
