I just got the tailor 1.1 and i want to make some clothing fit. But how do i know which morphs to select for the figure? And, is there a way to select multiple morphs for the clothing?

bookmark - as I just ordered the tailor by mail, and I would otherwise probably be asking this question soon.

Sadly.... Tailor is not supported anymore. The original author is under the mistaken impression that Poser 5 negated the need to Tailor. Sigh.

So what is the best way to make clothes fit? I got a bunch of victoria character from renderosity but the clothes don't cover all the parts. Im using poser 4 and pro pak but when i get poser 5 tailor is useless. I dont want to modify the victoria chacacter. I'd rather modify the clothing. Chech invisibility on the figure is not good because it makes a hole. I heard magnets are a good idea but how do you use them without deforming the clothes?

Well you can actually still use Tailor. Just load the character and clothes you are working with, in Poser 4. "Tailor" your clothes, then save them in Poser 4. When you're done, you can copy that stuff to Poser 5, and it works just fine.

Make sure your base figure has all the morphs you want to load into the clothing. The clothing has to fit the unmorphed base figure (i.e., Vicky clothing on Vicky, Posette clothing on Posette). It cannot convert Posette into Vicky. In the column on the left, choose which of the figure's morphs you want to add to the clothing. If it's an item you use on a lot of different Vicky's, add all of Vicky's morphs. It might take awhile but you have a highly morphable clothing object. Be sure to save the new object with a different name so you don't overwrite your original file. I hope this helps.

So, if you are just on Poser 5, you are SOL? Emily

I use tailor and Poser5 and I don't have any problems.

EricofSD ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 12:38 AM

Ive not been able to use tailor with Judy.

PeterWahoo ( ) posted Fri, 07 March 2003 at 8:39 AM

Tailor was made before Poser 5 existed. I think Tailor has some database of info concerning the characters it supports? Tailor has a problem with stuff from Poser 5 (even if it is Poser 4 stuff) because Poser 5 inserts extra info into the resources... There is a way to edit the items, to eliminate the extra info, but that is beyond me. I just find the easy way to handle things and stick to it. Let's hope Codetwister decides to update The Tailor for Poser 5.

Does tailor work with vicky3? Can it be used to transfer the male package morphs to vicky3 clothing? Is tailor easier to use than morph manager? Thanks!
