I'm sure Microsoft feels somewhat the same way about Star Office, Open Office, etc. Not to mention Adobe vs Gimp and many others. I know one Poser site that requests freestuff contributors not put up anything "too similar" to their marketplace items. I don't know if R'osity has a police one way or another. My feeling is that if someone wants to provide a free product, more power to them. Not everyone can afford to buy commercial products all the time. If the commercial product is clearly superior, then it will win out. What's the emphasis? Is Renderosity here to serve the interests of the merchants above those of the other members? Once you start protecting people against competition, free or commercial, there is no incentive for them to create something better. As they say, bankruptcy is to capitalism what hell is to Christianity. I think barring beople from providing free items because it might cut into someone's sales is a bad idea.
