The lower right edge of the main window (in pose room) has a small circle of lighter color. Use this as a handle to "drag" the window size. The color markers for background, foreground, etc. should float also to the right side of the window. If not, you can select "Edit -> General Preferences..." then "Launch to factory state" for both "Document Preference" and "Interface Preference". After "OK" you should close and re-open Poser5. This will produce a standard layout for the pose room. Now you can change all you want to, then select "Launch to Preferred State" in the "General Preferences" in order to save your private layout.
