Steve- I think it is a poor idea, what is really needed is to make the store better, and let Renderosity make more money through more sales. What I think needs to be done on the store: 1. Distance it from the feeling it is another page of Free Stuff, and people are paying for what they would otherwise get for free. 2. As part of above, go to an format centered on the artist, not centered on the items, to get a family of items feel. While I don't think a sale counter is a good idea, have some way for people to tell if the item is from a new artist or from an established one. 3. Have the setup allow more details on each item, so people could see what they were getting. 4. Fix the credit card problems people are having, if it involves less security work out a procedure so the artists don't get paid for that item (in onther words, let the risk be shared) untill after the credit cards clear or whatever. 5. Don't go into secure mode until the sale is actually made, as I bet you are scareing people away. I've never seen a website that does this the way Renderosity does.
