It is a "loss leader". This tactic has been part of doing business for at least a century. A distributer will deliberately sell something for less than they paid for it in order to bring in more business on other items at full profit. Amazon has done this before to Poser products and to the products of other companies. It says absolutely nothing about the quality of what they are selling, except that they hope you spend even more while you are filling your shopping cart.
