You are so right :) Instead why don't you spend $2000 or more on a new 3d app, spend a few months learning to model at a barely adequate level. spend a few weeks getting good at rigging a character barely adequately, thend spend hours on end rigging each and every character, and see how much you feel like doing any pictures much less animation. :p
