"Art requires a resistant medium." I don't remember who said it, but it's true. Redoing a task 100 times is tiresome, but it forces you to see the task from 100 slightly different moods and environments. (And if it goes on long enough, different ages!) Through this process, you refine the product and your methods, and perhaps even develop brand-new ways of working and thinking.
