It's very real Stefano. In some areas, it's really popular also. Back in a past life, I used to work for an airline. We had a lot of folks who would fly in from the Marshall Islands. They had, as we call them here in the Ozarks, "Ozark Luggage." (Lots of cardboard boxes, plastic garbage bags and such.) Invariably there would be at least one that had broken open. Also invariably, there would be lots of canned goods inside (like we don't have them here, I guess). And, you guessed it...Spam was usually the most popular. At the risk of being an outcast, Spam really isn't that bad. It stands for SPiced hAM. If you get canned ham where you are. And to try to reduce my potential outcast status, I think the commercials they have on tv are really cheesy.
