Always thought of Spam as a sort of processed ham in a can. A little salty, but a low-sodium variety is available. It's best IMO if you slice it thin and fry it brown. Then it can be eaten much as you would fried ham. If you don't have a problem with bologna, you shouldn't have a problem with Spam. :^) Some folks are probably put off by the gelatin it's packed in, but canned ham is packed the same way, basically. Hey, cheap but tasty meat in a small amount with a long shelf life before opening: what more could a bachelor with limited monies and an unchoosy palette ask for?
