Man this is so puzzling. I am used to using Lightwave when using XYZ coordinates, X is horizontal, Y is Verticle and Z is Horizontal Depth. Now I am used to using lightwave and I never had to question its axis function but Carrara make me wonder. Every time I use it and even from a blank default scene, the X axis is Depth and the Z axis is hieght or something strange like that. Has anyone else out there noticed anything like that? AAhhhhhhh Exported it into Carrara from 3D studio max just to see how close the max coordinate system is to carrara. It is only slighly off, no big deal. This turned out better than I expected.

Hey that looks good, shroud! Yeah the axis thing- seems to be different in everry 3D app- in Bryce (from the same company as Carrara) Y is elevation, and Z is depth- in Carrara thats reversed. Daf

I don't quite understand the legal argument cutcopypaste, could you elaborate on your statement please. I understand the mathematical properties of X,Y,Z but I did not know there was a patent on it.
