You could animate a null-object (could be any object) the way you would like the camera to move and then place the camera slightly in front of it (so that you don't see the null in the camera's view) and parent the camera to the null. The null will now move and the camera will follow it like it's glued to the null. If the null doesn't flip the camera linked to it should also not flip.
