Escher, Elephants, and the Thingy. All Bryce 5 except for the brick texture. I made the elephants with metaballs and spheres, the ears are terrains, the tails are trees. The Thingy is in the ramps.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Yeah, this one. It's called "Waterfall". I modeled it in Bryce, I just loved the design of the tower.

There is something seriously warped about someone who can have their entry done the same day the new challenge is announced. I think I'm disgusted. With myself. As I sit here spending hours tweaking textures, making and discarding materials (and ideas).... ~sigh~ 'Em's are cool elephants! :o)

I made the elephants with metaballs and spheres, the ears are terrains, the tails are trees. It's the Tigger Song! You're setting the bar high this month; those elephants are outstanding. And the Escher elements...sigh. We know who paid their Inspiration bill now, don't we? :-)

And I can'y even figure out how to make the pic for the challenge into a solid object . Maybe I'll just sit this one out. Great elephants BTW.

Thanks everyone! This is just one of those things that comes together almost like automatic writing. I'd been studying Escher lately, had recently been working on an elephant (inspired by vasquez's camelotta). When I read the April Challenge, the three different elephants...excuse me, ELEMENTS came together and made this image in my mind's eye. And when my muse wakes up from her usual stupor and hands me a mental image I like this much...well it seems to go from idea to render very quickly. This image even took less than 90 minutes to render. It looks like it should have taken longer, doesn't it? Maybe because the challenge was less restrictive in subject matter this month, so my imagination was more open to possibilities (thanks, rj001). Good luck to everyone, I think we're going to see more of entrants inner selves in this, because except for the "thingy" the images are going come directly from their own minds (does that make sense?). Tjohn Oh, and if it helps, Bulldawg, just do a fill in a paint program, or do what I did, paint the center in the terrain/lattice editor (mine are lattices) and make it solid.

Okay, I got it now...learn something new everyday...even if I don't come up with something as superb as the elephants I think doing the contest is worthwhile just so I can get some decent practice in. All I need to do now is figure out how to utilize this shape... And there is definitely something to be said for crayons...they odn't have to be plugged in to work :)

I love it TJohn.... I am an Escher fan and noticed the touch of Escher in your image right away. Awesome elephants by the way. 8-)
