It's pretty much the same thing in Vue. make a object, right click on it's default material, pick edit material that's displayed to open up the material editor. Look for the button mapped picture. browse to picture texture. You might also want to check out the tutorials here for cool and groovy effects that can be down too easily. There is some real good ones now on texturing.
