In an earlier thread, I posted images of the Marine uniforms.

Now here are the BDUs. There is the standard fatigues, and 5 camo patterns.

Tell me what you think.

Here's a shot of the uniforms in case you don't remember what they look like.

Outstanding! The desert pattern is really somthing, and the tundra, and the urban ...........very original patterns, like nothing I've seen ..........well okay, I've seen the tundra but not on a form fitting uniform. You are going to laugh, but the only one that looks a little out of place (to "busy" I think) is the forest camo. I love the cut, the standard uniform has a very sharp look to it that's really working. In keeping with modern military standards were you planning on including a "subdued" (black on a base color) insignia set to complament the camo and fatigue uniforms? Colorful insignia has a way of drawing attention .................and small arms fire. I have an idea for a Marine dress sword .....I'll have it in a bit. Really fine work on this Chris ..............very cool.

Now, I like the forest but not the Jungle-- and those two are awfully similar-- anyway to get deep blue in there? I guess not unless they have blue jungles, huh? The desert rocks enough to take clubbing!! Emily

I guess you can't please everyone. The only one I don't like is the tundra. :) Can't wait to pick the set up!

MachineClaw ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 10:09 AM

Tundra looks like she lost a paintball game.

Gorodin ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 10:46 AM

Hopefully there's enough here for everyone to find something they like. :-)

Gorodin ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 10:48 AM

SK - And yes, there will be a "pewter" set of insignia to go with the camo, as well as the "chrome". :-)

Keith ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 4:11 PM

Since I actually live in the tundra, I'd point out that the camo scheme you've got would make the person stand out like a sore thumb. Standard issue military camo is all-white.

Gorodin ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 4:14 PM

Keith, The tundra pattern is based on the pattern the modern German military uses. Apparently they have more rocks and vegetation sticking out of the snow...

Keith ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 7:04 PM

Well, the modern German military doesn't operate a lot in actual tundra. Not much of it in Germany. Seriously, I can look out my window right now and see real, 100% above the Arctic Circle tundra and it's plain white. Winter camo, okay--calling it "Tundra" is a misnomer.

Gorodin ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 7:31 PM

You are right, "Tundra" is a misnomer. :-P

MachineClaw ( ) posted Sat, 12 April 2003 at 7:35 PM

Well the Concord Marines fighting on Naragolose 12 needed that Arctic texture due to the volcanic rocks under the snow. Naragolose 12 rich in minerals was a major battling ground, and leave it to the Politicians to send in the Concord Marines to clean up the place and secure the planet. (I actually made all this up, but it sounded good for a justification for the texture hahaha!)

Damn! This looks great! You can do seams and trim like nobody's business!
