Hope this helps.

I wish that I COULD provide you with a basic set of instructions on how to install EVERYTHING in Poser 5. That would be wonderful.

Unfortunately, there is NOT a simple 1,2,3 answer to your question.

Frankly, Poser 5 tends to be unforgiving -- it is not a "plug 'n play" type of software. Poser 5 is very detailed, and the program requires detailed understanding to master.

It is like asking if there is a simple, easy way to master calculus. While this is not an entirely apt analogy (because Poser and calculus aren't really comparable); the analogy still applies, I think.

There is no ONE way to install every prop, figure, light set, etc.. Each item must be installed in a way that specifically addresses that individual item. Rarely will you find any two installations that are exactly alike.

Most freestuff items come with a "readme.txt" file included in the .zip. The "readme" file will usually provide instructions on how to install the prop/figure/whatever. The readme file is a helpful addition provided by freestuff creators.

Also, some freestuff items are provided as .exe files, which will self-install.

Keep these things in mind:

.pp2 files belong in the Runtimelibrariesprops folders

.cr2 files belong in the Runtimelibrariesfigures folders

.fc2 files belong in the Runtimelibrariesface folders

.obj files belong in the RuntimeGeometries folders

Once again, I hope that this helps. But, when it comes to Poser 5, "simple" isn't possible.
