Just one leaf? I'd scan it then use a alpha plain. The easy way. The much harder way is use it for a terrain then apply the image to it. You not going to gain much though for all the work that is envolved. The leaf is thin so it's sort of poinless. Leaves? Well I'd use a seamless texture personally.
