You can export sequence of obj files from poser and use freeware to convert to 3ds animation. (see habj site).Try doing an animation with a character in poser pro 4 and exporting using a program called maximum pose II by a guy called conan...very useful(doesn't work for poser5 but this scarcely matters)...exports textures as well..It creates a maxscipt but I don't know if director 8.5 will accept maxscripts.OPf course, if u have max this is no prob. Also you can export DAZ models as meshes in max and use biped to place skeletons in them. Then apply bvh or mocap files to model. Also...expression morphs can be transferred to max by exporting different expressions as morph targets,importing into max and then using morph modifier to act as expression dials. Hope this helps..
