Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Firstly, I want to thank Allerleirauh and momodot for the positive feedback and advice! I wish I had the time to get more into the guts of Poser and Rhino (My 3d modeller)! Momodot, I actually visited your site before this post - very interesting - but had some trouble downloading. I'll try again later. Ghoul
Wow. Excelent. It does apear the original model is absolutly no more than five two at the very tallest. On the woman: To do such refined nuance you will have to resort to magnets, make a zone on each lower thigh where the quad leads to the knee and Yscale down. Make a wide mag zone that is shoulder breadth but doesn't hit the neck or beggining of the breasts and Yscale down again. Most of all, Scale the head up 10 or 12 percent! Finally, anti-hero the calves and Zscale them up. Sorry to be so teacherly but I actually work full time as a figure drawing instructor. Allerleirauh is right that you must scale up the pelvis, the model has much greater distance from hip joint to top of hip cradle. The feet in the photo most be lens distortion I think, but as I always tell student who ask for cononical proportions, human variation goes from Chiuauau to Great Dane in every concievable variation.
I have a huge problem with Poser necks always being too long for the seven and seven-and-a-half head high woman I do. When I Yscale the necks down as much as I need to they "break". My plan when I get a chance is to open the Posette head in Amorphium and shorten the neck stub on the head to see if that helps!!! You'll notice the giraffe necks onn the old woman morphs at my site caused by sinking in the collar and clavicals!
Nice to see all the discussion on "normal". Personally, I like supermodels! Maybe "variety" would have been a more appropriate word since normal implies something that does not exist. The problem is if you're after realism, you need some variety in characters to make the scene believable, unless virtual penthouse is all you're after. I've found some interesting information on the subject of Anthropometric Data (human dimensions). If anyone has good reference material, I'd be interested. Re the neck problem, I think you can adjust the neck joint parameters for head_scaleY and chest_scaleY to reduce the effect. Later, Ghoul
I've never grasped the joint parameter deal, thanks for the tip, can't wait to try it. When I went to school in Boston the rumor was that the Harvard University Archivest had Anthropometric nude mug shots of every student to enter Harvard from the 1940s to the end of the 1950s. True? Its like how Prince will sing about particulars abou "Venessa Bett" etc. I think the individuality of non-model types is sexy. I'm so frustrated that Metacreations gave us the "Hero" morph instead of the "Chubby" morph! Scaling seems to have its limits unfortunately.
Diane- Vickies legs and neck are probably her best parts, her chest is probably her worst, she carries her breasts too low, aside from them being too big. She does have nicer legs than the Posette though, and she doesn't have those side lumps that when I did a removal morph on, I got comments that "they should be there" - yeah, on a weightlifter!
