Difficult wording "Maya... ...are professional softwares". I think Vue is professional too - i without problem am using Vue for my professional work as well if possible. But i think what you mean is that Vue has another focus. It is meant as a highly specialised package for landscapes and rendering. And not for modeling etc. And you're right, pricewise it is playing in another league, I think all this vector orientated add-ons are related to packages with a strong focus on modeling. There it makes sense to use the geometric datas for additional purposes.
