I used CacheRam for a while and didn't notice any real improvement. Indeed, I suspect it was making the system unstable - works better without it. Long term, your best solution is to upgrade to either Windows 2000 if you can find it or XP. Windows 98 just doesn't handle memory all that well. Using Windows 2000 with the same system, I never had problems rendering. A HD crash is the only reason I'm using 98 temporarily. You may have to upgrade your hardware but the change will be well worth it.
