As someone who's familiar with both platforms, and used to work as a sales rep in a Mac specialty store, I thought I'd add my 2 cents.

What do I consider my primary reason for using a Mac? They're more efficient. No matter how familiar I am with both operating systems, it takes me half the time to accomplish something on a Mac, because its centered around a user-friendly system.

Most people would be surprised how many programs that were once 'PC only' are available for the Mac these days. The way I see it, any program you could possibly NEED is cross platform, the rest that aren't... well you get the idea. I do find a use for Virtual PC on occasion, for smaller programs like software utilities that won't run on a Mac. For years I kept a PC in my household just to run things that my Mac couldn't, and within the past couple years its become completely unnecessary.

I think everyone should make their own decisions about what OS they find fits them best, and that its really not worth arguing about. No one can come up with concrete evidence that everyone's going to agree on, because its a matter of opinion. Try to tell a dog lover that cats are smarter, or a cat lover that dogs are man's best friend. Its a futile attempt, believe me.
