A lot of us started comparing who we saw downloading our free stuff with who was buying our marketplace goods and realised thatthere was less than a 5% overlap between users. Whereupon we realised that making free stuff is great to get your name known, but once it is, the bandwidth costs of hosting it was a bit waste of our money because the people going for all the free stuff were by and large not the ones gong for the not-free stuff, and were more likely the people downloading it off of kazaa instead.
