I've become an expert on this subject.

This will work with props, but will not work with figures. I've tried it every which way and nada...

What will work for a figure is to add a dummy part which contains all the materials. I made a cube in uv mapper, deleted 5 sides and kept the remaining side with 36 faces, as a basis for all my dummy figures. Of course you have to name your materials, add it to the figure obj at the beginning, scale it down, lock it, hide it and exclude it from the menu in poser. But of a PITA, really, but it works.

If anyone has a viable alternative, I'm listening.
