Subject: Looking for REAL beards!

Why is it so hard to find a beard for the Poser dork? I mean one that's not just some texture, but fully formed, hair and all. I think someone here mentioned a site from a link on Virus' page. But when I checked, there was no way to know which link had the beards. I really think beards, good hair, and some good clothes certainly would help towards making him less dorky. There are a few good textures for him that help a lot. I happened to notice an earlier post about some of this, so I guess I'm in good company. Anton was asking for suggestions of items to make. I think I'll add beards to his post while I'm here.

Problem with beards is they don't move when his mouth does, now saying that Zygote have one with morph targets so you can do that and its a good looking beard but you'll still need to animate it by hand, would a beard as a morph target be any good I have one at Poserworld (maybe 2) ..and I'm sure there are others around..Steve

I don't really do animations but I think a good morph, texure and bump do a pretty dang good trimmed beard. This is from someone with a beard too. Plus I have the Zygote one for long bushy style ones ...

Someone somewhere did a Poser character called "Goatee Man" which morphed the lower jaw to a fairly good beard shape and had a pretty good texture to color it....but I'm not sure where it is; Scarab

I got Zygote's beard and it's nice but leans a little towards the grizzly adams look. Haven't tried 'trimming' it with transparencies but that be an option. Along the face-hair lines ... I recently uploaded a moustache to Funstuff that is a kludge to be sure, still looks better (to me) than some of the flat ones I found. Maybe if you used that WITH the morph-beard that's around it may get you in the ballpark. - RJ

Shameles Plug: I have a few dozen face morphs that help re. dorkyness at my site http://pages.hotbot.com/arts/momodot/ but the goatee morphs and a texture map are really the only way to go for facial hair. I have about a half dozen great textures I downloaded from sites that I believe are no longer in existanance but I don't know how to make them available without breaching ethics... maybe I could redo them sustantially enough in a month or two to make it okay to repost them ?? Goatee man is good, P3 and a bit heavily built, but the goatee morphs that are out there are really quite good. A few threads down were link to mens beard made of many vortices that look good on the download page but I Haven't tried... they left much room around mouth in hope they could go with some degree of expression.

All the beards were for P3 males. I have a P3 fig, but what about my poor P4 dork? I'll see if I can check the other thread. Thanx Momodot. By the way, I like the "Moist Eyes", Its surprising what a difference they made.

i wish someone would replace dorkie's head with vicki's....imagine the possibilities

Y'all have a great day.

I THINK the heads are (the only parts that are) identical between P3 and P4 models. And someone (RenaPD, IIRC) DID replace the "dorkie's" head with Miltoria/Villie's...
