i suggest trying out as many demo programs as you can to get feel what is best for you. Bryce and Poser are considered one of the two easiest programs. Bryce specializes in landscapes but has many other uses, its great for making scenes, inside and out, weather you use objects created withi it or imported in. its terrains can be exported to used in other programs, but its inherent primitive objects can not be used in other progs, only certain objects which wer created outside, there is tutorial for this. Poser is primarily a character program, but with so many props for it, limited in program modeling, and being able to import objects created in other programs it can stand up its own right. Other programs are: True space by Caligari, Rhino, Lightwave, 3ds Max (which has a free version Gmax), Zbrush, Amorphium, Maya these range in price from a few hundred to thousands of dollars Price List: http://www.fignations.com/resources/cost.html there area also a lot of free programs about, check out the digital resource links at our site http://www.fignations.com/index2.html Also check out tutorials and pictures done in specific programs to help feel them out. Caligari is giving out True Space 3.2 at: http://www.activeworlds.com/products/truespace.asp Even if you have difficulty building scenes in True Space, the objects can be exported and used in other programs. Also there are object converters so that they can be used in a wider range of programs. This is also true for the free programs. I've used Truespace to make objects to be used in Poser and Bryce. And always, always never be afraid to ask questions in the proper forums when you need help. There are also other program specific forums which you may want to visit. Much Luck! jelisa_j
