THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: MAY'S THEME!!!! MONTHLY CHALLENGE!

alvinylaya ( ) posted Thu, 08 May 2003 at 12:21 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 4:00 PM

I had a few other ideas but I found this one more open to creativity. So here's the theme: "UNCONTROLLABLE FORCES" * The image should display Uncontrollable Force(s). It can be many things: Human needs.. Natural conditions, forces of nature... Something Man-made... Something Supernatural etc... Other ideas welcome and encouraged as long as it's on topic. * Keep it original and creative! * Imports are allowed but don't overdo it. Keep it as original as possible. * Postwork allowed, also don't overdo it. Keep it as Brycean as possible. Keep in mind this is a Bryce forum challenge. * If the theme is not obvious in your image, enlighten us with a little explanation. With that, I give the stage to Agent Smith, whatever rules he ads is the final law. =) GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!! AND HAPPY BRYCING!

I've got a really awesome idea. I'll make an image about insanity! (extreme mental instability, like a psycho or something) Does have some import and postwork in it though. Will that really be a problem? Please say it isn't. making a watery eyes/little doggy facial expression

Ooh, I have lots of ideas for this one...not sure how "do-able" they are, but it will be fun to try :)

Svaelt ( ) posted Thu, 08 May 2003 at 4:12 PM

seems like a nice challenge...i'm totally up to it.

bulldawg66 ( ) posted Thu, 08 May 2003 at 4:40 PM

To me this sounds similar to the cover contest which ran recently for Renderosity Magazine. You had to illustrate one or more of the four elements in any manner which you chose to do so. Personally, I would like to see a challenge where people have to make their own props, a limit to how many things could be imported for use, and where they can do limited post-work. Just my thoughts on it, but then it doesn't really matter sinceI don't get to set the rules LOL I'll see what I can come up with for this one. Good luck everyone!!!

This is the force of energy. It is hard to show energy as a form without using lightning, which is a bit of a cliche.

alvinylaya ( ) posted Fri, 09 May 2003 at 11:59 AM

To Rayaz, Yeah, Imports are allowed (as they have been in the past) but make sure the final image is mostly Bryce, and not just an import rendered in Bryce. To bulldawg66, Yeah I really wanted a completely Bryce challenge, but a lot of Bryce artists here don't like rules that are too strict. In fact I actually thought of a "MetaballMania" but that would leave out Bryce4 and earlier users. hehehe. I just wanted to encourage participation. ;D

NPA ( ) posted Mon, 12 May 2003 at 5:48 PM

Um, I have to admit I'm new to this stuff and have no clue where to post the image? I'm sure it's a no brainer............ who said I had brains. : )

Aldaron ( ) posted Mon, 12 May 2003 at 7:47 PM

Create your image then when it's ready create a new thread and put something like "May Challenge Entry" in the subject line. Agentsmith will go throught the forum as he sees them posted and collect them. Near the end of the month he usually posts a warning that you have so much time left to get the entries in then he'll create a thread that says something about May's challenge voting and the link to the page with all the entries will be in that thread. Go to the link the go back to the thread to post your votes.

AgentSmith ( ) posted Tue, 13 May 2003 at 1:15 AM

Yeah, I always check this thread for any entries (learned from experience) BUT, the best thing is to attach it to a brand new thread of your very own, that way a lot more members will get to see it. *Be sure to put that "May Challenge" in the subject header, or I won't know to go into that thread to get your entry to include it. Thanks. AgentSmith
