Maybe you have heard of it before, maybe not, but i found this small program that is free of use as long as it is not commercial use.

It not as good as Terragen, but it comes with a load of trees and it is all in real-time.

Mind you, you need 256 mb of ram, a 1Ghz processor and a Gforce 3 or better. I would not hurt to read the docs of this program as-well. The above picture is running on about 11 a 12 frames per seccond, and i have 1.8Ghz and 1gig of memory.

Damn look at all them programs running in your tray! That would melt down my humble k62-400 mach.

You might want to think about taking most of those programs in your system tray out of there, each little program is taking up unneccessary memory (ie realplayer, quicktime, winamp) just to name a few.

erm... guys... the man said, and I quote, "and i have 1.8Ghz and 1gig of memory." do you really think it matters what he runs in his taskbar? my only question though is this... SETI??? ;) thanks for the heads-up on the program, it sure looks great. can the vegetation be exported though? drac

But Seti takes his foot of the gas of other things like this program need those T-states (program-cycles, whatever. Still use to call them T-states). Even on my previous machine (A PII 400 with only 64mb) had no problems with Seti running in the back. And if nessecary i could turn it off. Learn one thing about Bryce (and other renders), CPU-speed is one thing, but memory is everything else, you can't have enough of it.

You don't have an infinite no of clock cycles. Wonder if you can get more frame rates if the number of things in the taskbar were less. Won't even talk about some of the stuff that some apps add to check for updates, etc. Why don't the software companies write them so the utils check and shut themselves down afterwards. That said, sounds like a nice setup.

I have 512 Megs and I'm running almost anything in the tray. Just the volume settings and Norton AV. If I need something, I will bother myself with browsing the start menu :) BTW, thanx for the link. I'm takin a look at the info page. Have the same question of draculaz: the veg could be exported to be rendered somewhere else? S.
