Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 1:45 am)
Isn't the teeth and inner mouth on the body map? You may need to check each part and make sure it has the correct map, mapping mode should be parametric. Arleen

Yes, I did export as an OBJ. The scale looks right to me - eg. the nostrils are the correct distance apart. It looks like everything has slipped down a bit, that's all. On the body, parts of it (eg. the upper neck as you can see here, and also half the arms and other things) are white - the body texture map didn't cover them at all. It's driving me mad!
Which version of Bryce are you using? You may need to rotate the map 180 on the x-axis.

Did you apply the texture manually? If so this happens when one or more body parts is assigned the wrong texture..head instead of body or vice versa. I strongly suggest using Grouper before you import a Poser object into Bryce. (1) it will leave you with the same material zones that you use in Poser so it isn't as confusing (2) once an object is already textured, it's much easier to change the texture to something else because you can see what map is already on a mesh part (body or head or whatever)
Problems with Grouper: I mentioned this elsewhere, but it's crashing when I try to make the mtl file under the Repair tab. Also, since I'm using Poser 3, I can't assign two different texture maps (ie. head and body) to the same figure. I am doing it all in Bryce, and I've figured out how to select and group the head and body bits separately. The correct textures are being applied - I can tell this because, for example, she has nostrils and lips on her head so it's definitely the head texture there... just in the wrong place. Same with the body. When I do the exact same process but with Vicki in a less extreme position, it works fine. Tried flipping over the body texture - now she has tongues on her shoulders, and the rest looks just as bad. Kill me now.
Wel, for anyone who's interested I've figured out the problem. It's because I exported the figure and the "dome window" object thing together. Even though I then ungrouped and regrouped everything properly in Bryce, this is what was somehow stuffing up the figure's texture map. When I exported the objects separately and imported them into Bryce separately to reassemble the pic, it worked. This is kind of irritating as I find objects hard to place precisely in Bryce, but I guess I'll get used to it.
